Purdue Football Shows New Scoreboard Drone Footage

Plus some positive news about “will there be football”.

Minnesota v Purdue

Being in quarantine sucks, but maybe there is some hope on the horizon. Today the Purdue football official Twitter posted some drone footage of the new scoreboard currently under construction at Ross-Ade Stadium and it is going to be massive.

Obviously this is a huge upgrade, and considering that last season there was a question about if the old scoreboard would even make it through the entire season while still functioning, it was much needed. This thing is going to look great when it is finished.

Speaking of football, the state of Indiana announced a five-stage plan to re-open and maybe, just maybe, there is some good news in there:

Stage 4 - June 14

Marion, Lake and Cass counties will continue on their delayed timeline.

More businesses will be able to open and larger gathering will now be allowed.

Social gatherings up to 250 people

Retails stores and malls at full capacity

Dining room services to 75 percent capacity

Bars and nightclubs can open at 50 percent capacity

Cultural entertainment and tourism can open at 50 percent capacity (Including zoos, museums, etc.)

Sports venues and amusement parks at 50 percent capacity

Stage 5 - July 4

Marion, Lake and Cass counties will continue on their delayed timeline.

The state will begin to open sports venues and other large facilities.

Fairs and festivals will be allowed.

Retail and restaurants can function at full capacity.

Restrictions will be lifted at amusement parks, water parks, etc.

During stage 5, state officials will look at how to approach and handle the new school year.

So by June 14th we might be ready for some Hazel-era level crowds, with full crowds maybe by July 4th. Obviously, the university itself, NCAA, Big Ten, and others will have a say in this and there are a lot of steps to pass, but maybe, just maybe, they’ Let Us Play Football.

I hope to see y’all there September 12 vs. Memphis.
