Purdue’s depth chart at cornerback got one person smaller today as Kenneth Major announced he was entering the transfer portal. The news was noted on the Twitter account @rivalsportal.
#BoilerUp CB Kenneth Major has entered the transfer portal after totaling 75 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 3 INT and 3 PD in his 2 seasons at #Purdue @rivalsmike @RivalsWoody@GoldandBlackcomhttps://t.co/ipMbcPOZlm

After seeing major action (get it?) as a freshman and totaling 55 tackles Major’s production fell in his sophomore year as he tallied just 24 tackles. His interceptions also fell from three in his freshman year to zero his sophomore season.
It’s unclear if this was a “the writing is on the wall” “you’re not gonna start” kind of situation or if Major is simply looking for greener pastures elsewhere. The majority of these guys come in to play not to sit the bench. These are ultra competitive people and if they don’t believe they’ve been given a fair shake they won’t hesitate to look elsewhere.
Whatever the reason for Kennth Major’s transfer we here at Hammer and Rails wish him nothing but the best.
