Believe it or not the NFL Draft is only a few weeks away. The NFL is continuing on, but we may see a Virtual NFL Draft in lieu of in person, as most public gatherings have basically been cancelled.

Over the next few days, we will take a peak at the potential Boilermakers that could be drafted in the 2020 draft, which will restart our streak of players drafted, as that ended last year.

Name: Markus Bailey

Position: Linebacker

Size: 6’, 235 Pounds

Experts Say: Day 3 Selection or Undrafted Free Agent

What We Know: We have seen Markus go through two season ending injuries. His Freshman season, where he was able to get a redshirt and this past season. Markus is a sideline to sideline outside linebacker, with a 40 in the 4.7s, but having a couple of knee injuries will most likely drop him in the NFL Draft, that as well as having a poor showing at the combine, where bench press is all he participated in.

Markus was banking on having a great Pro Day at Purdue, but I believe most of those have been cancelled in wake of COVID. Sadly, Markus was being extremely loyal to Purdue coming back for his 5th year. Quite honestly, he should have went pro after the 2018-2019 season, where he had 115 tackles and was healthy all year. He would have likely been a day 2 or day 3 selection at that point.

But, that is why we love Markus, he is a loyal hard working Boilermaker and put his team first.

Prediction: With not having a pro day and not really participating in the combine, I personally see Markus going undrafted - as much as I hate to say that. He was not able to show his worth at a Pro Day and more importantly he was not able to show he was healthy.
