This year’s state tournament is one of potential for Purdue players. The lone commitment we have playing is 2021 forward Caleb Furst, who is playing for Ft. Wayne Blackhawk Christian in Class 2A. They are actually playing up in class, as they won in Class A last season and moved up due to success factor. Defending 2A champion Andrean means you have two state champions playing in the same class. Your defending 3A champion is Silver Creek, who has 2021 Purdue target Trey Kaufman. Finally, the defending 4A champion is Carmel, who is always a tough out.
There are several other players will will see in recent years, too, such as Trey Galloway (Indiana) at Culver Academy, Anthony Leal (Indiana) at Bloomington South, Tony Perkins (Iowa) at Lawrence North, and more.
As always, it is a fun tournament that will culminate on March 28 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis with four state championship games.
