College Basketball Rankings February 10: Purdue Back Receiving Votes

It turns out that winning games helps.

NCAA Basketball: Purdue at Indiana Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

A blow out win over a top 20 team and a win in a hostile road venue against a good team will do wonders for a team’s psyche. Purdue looks very, very different than it did a week ago after wins over Iowa and Indiana. This week presents another opportunity. The Boilers get a red hot Penn State team in Mackey Arena, where ranked teams have come to die this season (ignore the Illinois game), and a somewhat struggling Ohio State. The Boilers are not back in the top 25 yet, but they are receiving votes again. With two more wins this week a return to the top 25 is entirely possible next week.

Here is this week’s AP Poll.

  1. Baylor 1,583
  2. Gonzaga 1,546
  3. Kansas 1,450
  4. San Diego State 1,422
