Purdue Football: Most Improved Offensive Player, David Bell

Ring the Bell!

Ring the Bell.

A term the coaches have been tweeting out like crazy the first two weeks.

David Bell has gotten astronomically better from last season. Which is just crazy to think about.

As a freshman, he had 86 catches for 1,035 yards and 7 touchdowns, in 12 games.

In a shortened season, where if we get into a bowl game we will play 10 games, he is on pace for 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns, with 110 catches.

That is why through two games this season, I have David Bell as our most improved offensive player.

I wanted to pick someone else, just because he was so dominant last year. But through 2 games - it is hard to say someone else is more improved.

While not having Rondale Moore has not been fun - Having David Bell at full strength and getting darn near 20 targets a game has been a nice way to be okay with Rondale being out - with whatever he has going on.

David would be the best player on a few NFL teams RIGHT NOW! Including the one down 65, the Indianapolis Colts.

To me, David Bell is the best wide receiver in the nation and it is hard to argue otherwise.

Aidan O’Connell has been very good early on, a big part of that is that he force feeds the best wide receiver in the Big Ten.

Rondale Moore or not - this passing game is going to be fine, no matter who is the number one wide receiver.

But, let it be known. If it is David Bell for the rest of the season, we will be just fine.

Ring the Bell.
