With the 2020-21 college basketball season now just 13 days away, Purdue announced their final non-conference opponent. The Oakland University Golden Grizzlies will travel to Mackey Arena on December 1st to take on the Boilermakers.

This announcement solidifies the Purdue non-conference schedule of 7 games before the Big Ten season commences.

The Boilermakers will begin the season on November 25th in Melbourne, Florida taking part in the Space Coast Challenge against Liberty University, then will play either Clemson or Mississippi State the following day.

After the Space Coast Challenge, Purdue heads back to Mackey Arena for a two-game stretch against the aforementioned Oakland Golden Grizzlies on December 1st followed by hosting Valparaiso on December 4th.

Although the Gavitt Games will not be held this season, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge is still set to continue as usual with Purdue making the trek down to South Beach to play the Miami Hurricanes on December 8th.

The final two games of Purdue’s non-conference schedule are against a pair of fellow Indiana schools in Indiana State on December 12th and a week later face off with Notre Dame at the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis.

We will find out a lot about this team early in the season with some good tests in the non-conference schedule. You can find the full schedule with more info via Purdue’s website here.
