Purdue is set for back to back games under the lights

This one slipped through the cracks on us a bit yesterday but the conference announced that the Purdue vs. Minnesota game will be played at 7:30 PM on Friday, November 20th.

As noted in the announcement tweet the game will be played on the Big Ten Network.

A Friday game should make for an interesting situation. It’s rare that Purdue plays on a day other than Saturday. With no tailgating going on and fewer family get togethers in this era of Covid perhaps it won’t feel like as much of a change but I know once I get home (meaning moving from downstairs to upstairs) from work and remember there’s a Purdue game on a workday it will feel strange.

This will actually be Minnesota’s third Friday night game out of the first five weeks. It’s unclear if the boat can only be rowed on Friday’s or if Fleck put down a non-refundable deposit on a SCUBA class that he takes on most Saturdays and the B1G is just accommodating him. Whatever it is, it will be Purdue’s first Friday night game this year and second night game in a row after the week 4 game against Northwestern coming up this weekend that also kicks off at 7:30 PM.
