Purdue Football Player Countdown: #46 Nick Taylor

MOAR LONGSNAPPERS!

Can Purdue run out a lineup of all long snappers? It is a great way for a walk-on to see the field, and today we have another freshman in that department.

Nick Taylor - Fr.

Indianapolis, IN (Lawrence North HS)

6’4”, 225 pounds

Long Snapper

2020 Projection: Likely Redshirt

Purdue has a lot of long snappers, and Nick Zecchino is the incumbent. He has to leave sometime though, and that is where Taylor comes in. He played linebacker and long snapper at Lawrence North and he has some highlights:

He played in the tough MIC here in Indianapolis for a Lawrence North team that has improved greatly over the past several seasons under Patrick Mallory. Mallory is only 22-56 the last few seasons, but has them at 5-2 this year. This comes after they were 0-10 the year before he came along and 0-9 in Mallory’s first year in 2013.

Taylor can be a contributor in time, but like with most walk-ons it will be a bit.
