Allegedly Purdue gets basketball on November 25th. I say allegedly because we still have a damn pandemic going on and only two games, Indiana State and Miami (FL) are currently o the official schedule. That date is the new official start for college basketball, however, so hopefully we get something. The chances of having a full house in Mackey seem remote at best right now, but we will get what we can get.
The 2020-21 season looks to be a transition year for Purdue. There are five freshmen, three true and two redshirt, that will see significant playing time. There are zero seniors on the roster, although Sasha Stefanovic and Aaron Wheeler are in their fourth year in the program. Purdue has experience with them along with Trevion Williams and Eric Hunter Jr., but is still a young team because of the no seniors thing. With the complexities of COVID it feels like a free year to develop and get ready for a monster 2021-22 season.
