Today is the day.
At 6 PM, Trey Kauffman will announce his college decision, according to 247 Sports, he has it down to Purdue, Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia.
Kauffman is the 41st ranked prospect in the nation. He is projected as a power forward at 6-8, 215 pounds. In the state of Indiana, he is ranked the 2nd best prospect, only behind Boiler Basketball Commit, Caleb Furst.
Painter is looking to capitalize on some recruiting momentum for the 2021 class with Furst and the 2020 class that included Jaden Ivey, Ethan Morton and Zach Edey, which was a top 50 class for 2020.
Trey would be a great addition to this class, the last class was guard heavy, this one is looking like it will be front court heavy.
Trey can do it all, post up, shoot the ball, play defense, everything you need from a wing player.
Coach Painter has been after Kauffman for years now and potentially, it will pay off tonight. When Calen Furst committed to Purdue, everyone said that Purdue had no chance to get Trey in the same class.
Now, it may become a reality tonight.
