If you’re like me, and if you’re reading this there’s a good chance you’re at least a bit like me, you always enjoy seeing the new uniforms and uniform combos that Purdue is gonna wear. Today Purdue announced via a nice video posted on Twitter what they will be wearing for the first game of the season. Take a look below and then stay for a brief discussion!
️⚔️ Battle Armor for Saturday.

While I personally could do without the battle armor phrasing I think this is yet another example of Purdue Athletics truly stepping up their social media presence and skill. It’s long been a complaint of most fans that Purdue can often seem behind the times regarding social media and fan engagement in general. That ship has slowly started to turn over the last five years and this is just another point that Purdue truly gets it.
You can clearly see that it’s the gold helmet and black jersey but you don’t get a good look at the pants. My assumption based on the little I can see is that they are going with black pants as well. That assumption was confirmed when a fellow twitter used asked if it was black pants and the Purdue football account confirmed as such.
This is one of the tried and true uniform combinations of Purdue football and quite frankly I think it’s one of the best. It’s simple, it’s clean, it’s sleek, and I just love the look of it. Alternate uniforms are always good for a game or two here or there but you need to have a good bread and butter combination and Purdue has just that with this set.
So what do you think? Would this be your choice as a tone setter for the 2020 season? Or would you recommend going with something different.
This is just another sign that this 2020 season that was once thought lost is truly returning in just two days.
