The good news is that we will have a Brohm coaching on Saturday. The bad news is that it will be Brian Brohm and not Jeff Brohm. Due to Jeff’s positive COVID-19 test his brother Brian has been named acting head coach on Saturday:
Brian Brohm will be acting head coach if Jeff Brohm isn't on the sidelines Saturday vs Iowa

Brian Brohm has been on staff with older brother Jeff during his entire tenure at Purdue as Co-Offensive Coordinator and QB coach, so the continuity should help despite defensive coordinator Bob Diaco already having head coaching experience. As recently as 2015 he was playing professionally with he Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where in 2014 he was even a teammate of former Purdue QB Robert Marve.
I like the continuity here, as Purdue under Jeff Brohm has been offense first and that is where Brian has been working. The defense can be fine with a former head coach in Diaco directing them. It was Brian Brohm’s offense that beat Iowa in 2017 and 2018 anyway.
Just five days until kickoff. Hopefully we make it.
As for Jeff:
Jeff Brohm says he has experienced symptoms (abnormally exhausted, body aches, chest tightness) alongside his positive diagnosis.

Brohm says it is his understanding that coaches/staff will follow 10-day isolation CDC guidelines. Players have a mandated 21-day period of time kept out of competition after testing positive (due to cardiac testing/screening).
