IT’S TIME FOR HATE!
Finally, we get some Purdue football. It is no doubt strange to start the season on October 24th instead of in late August/early September, but here we are. The season is starting, Rondale Moore is back, and we get to open at home against Our Most Hated Rival.
Purdue under Jeff Brohm (assuming he can coach in some capacity on Saturday) has done fairly well against Iowa. In 2017 Purdue pulled off a memorable upset in Iowa City with Anthony Mahoungou having a huge game in a 24-15 win, which helped Purdue reach the Foster Farms Bowl. In 2018 Purdue won on a last minute Spencer Evans field goal 38-36 thanks to an earlier failed two-point conversion by the Hawkeyes.
This should be a good game and a decent season opener. There will be very few fans (only family and staffers) in attendance, but my son has a cardboard cutout, so H&R will sort of be there.
