We’re actually less than two weeks from real, live football! Since most of the players being featured are incoming freshmen who did not previously have numbers assigned let’s meet a promising young linebacker.

Kydran Jenkins - Fr.

Lewisville, GA (Jefferson County HS)

6’1”, 255 pounds

Linebacker

2020 projection: possible redshirt

6’1” 255 is really good size for the versatile linebackers needed in the 3-4 defense. He was a consensus 3-star recruit and a solid player out of Georgia. There he started for four seasons at Jefferson County high school and projects mostly as an inside linebacker:

My passion for the game and my work ethic. I am a 3 year starter and earned Defensive MVP and Defensive Captain. I was selected All -Region & All Area 1st team the past two years. Junior Stats: 80 tackles – 5 Sacks – 1 int – 4 forced fumbles – Kick Return TD – Punt Return TD. I also play basketball and soccer for my school. I was selected All Region & All Area 1st Team Goalie.

A linebacker a SOCCER GOALIE? Now that is interesting, as goalies need to be able to range back and forth quickly. Here are his junior football highlights:

Jenkins could see playing time this year as we definitely have some questions at linebacker. If not, he is a great developmental player.
