D.J. Johnson, former Iowa Hawkeye and current Purdue Boilermaker had his NCAA waiver to play this season approved.
Brohm: Iowa transfer D.J. Johnson's waiver approved by NCAA. Waiting on the Big Ten to sign off to make it official.

I anticipate the Big10 rubber stamping this thing on Monday.
This is a huge addition to the Boilermaker secondary. Bob Diaco loves to use corner/safety highbred players in the back end of his defense and D.J.’s skill set should mesh perfectly. He’s listed as a safety on Purdue’s official roster, but that doesn’t mean much in Diaco’s scheme. L’Jarius Sneed, a 6’1, 190 converted corner was Diaco’s best defensive player at La. Tech last season. Sneed started at corner for the Kansas City Chiefs this season.
Expect to see D.J. lined up all over the secondary this season.
In addition to his skill set on the field, adding another Indianapolis product (North Central) on the team could help Purdue break into the frustrating Indianapolis recruiting.
