Purdue is in the market for a grad transfer quarterback, but as they should be, they are being picky and doing their due diligence.
Coach Brohm has stated they are interested in a grad transfer quarterback, but if one does not come, he is still comfortable with the quarterbacks we currently have on the roster.
There appears to be some interest from Chase with coming to Purdue, as if you go to his likes on Twitter and he has many likes mentioning Purdue.
Chase is a unique grad transfer quarterback - he will have two years left at whatever school he chooses, so, in theory, he could be a starter for two full seasons.
He does have to finish the spring semester at Clemson before he can transfer, so he can obtain his undergrad degree.
Coming out of high school, Chase was rated a 4* prospect by Rivals. He had many options to choose from, but, he chose the Tigers. During his redshirt season, Trevor Lawrence committed to Clemson - basically taking any chance away from starting.
Chase stuck with it though, winning a national championship in 2019. Coach Sweeney has said multiple times, believes that Chase is the 2nd best quarterback in the ACC - only 2nd to Lawrence.
While playing in a few games, either relieving Lawrence or starting in place due to injury, Chase totaled over 1,000 yards passing, just in limited action, 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
When he announced he was transferring, there were many Clemson Tigers players that reached out to Twitter, telling him he deserves this and congratulating him - also many telling him that he would be missed - as he was such a great teammate.
While Twitter makes it appear that Chase may be interested in the Boilers - there has been nothing public to date that the Boilers are interested - other than the line fact that Coach Brohm has stated publicly that he is looking at grad transfer quarterbacks.
Personally, I would love for Chase to join this team. He would be able to showcase his excellent skills and be on a team that is just loaded with weapons.
