It is as bad as we feared. Elijah Sindelar had to leave yesterday’s loss against Minnesota in the first quarter after landing on his shoulder. It turns out the injury is a significant one. He is now out for most of the season with a broken collarbone.
Brohm: Sindelar broken clavicle. Surgery today. D.J. Washington (broken tiba, ankle). No Lorenzo Neal vs PSU

Sindelar had not even played a full quarter after missing the TCU game with a concussion, and now he goes from leading the nation in passing ayrds through two games to out for the season yet again. He missed most of last year with various injuries, including rehabbing from a torn ACL. He has already been granted a 6th year waiver to return in 2020.
Purdue will now go with redshirt freshman Jack Plummer the rest of the way. Plummer got the start vs. TCU and acquitted himself well against Minnesota in the final three quarters. He has 426 passing yards and three touchdowns in less than two games, but has thrown four interceptions (two on tipped passes). Aiden O’Connell moves up to no. 2 on the depth chart, while Nick Sipe is the likely No. 3.
