Purdue needs to do its best to put the disappointment of Friday night behind it. The Boilermakers let a near certain win slip away thanks to turnovers, fatigue, an unfortunate replay review that did not call the game-clinching interception, and some bizarre play calling. now it is time for the home opener, and we get a Vanderbilt team that also lost its opener.
Both teams do not want to fall behind in the race for bowl eligibility, and it is pretty much a must-win now for either team if they want to make the postseason. The Commodores were dominated at home by one of the best teams in the nation, but feature a great running back in Ke’Shawn Vaughn who was once recruited by Purdue and has already had a big game in Ross-Ade Stadium from when he was at Illinois. The Boilers cannot afford to fall to 0-2 on the season here.
