Running Back

2019 Projection: Possible contributor at running back

Purdue has some questions at running back. Tario Fuller is the likely starter. Richie Worship is not healthy yet. Alexander Horvath and Alfred Armour are possible walk-on contributors. One of our incoming freshmen may contribute, however, King Doerue might be that guy.

The three-star running back from Amarillo, Texas had a solid season last year. He rushed for 1,356 yards and 21 touchdowns for his team that went 11-4 and made the Texas 6A D2 semifinals. His Tascosa team then lost a memorable 45-42 game to Longview in the semifinals.

Doerue will have a chance to get some carries this year, especially if Fuller can’t stay healthy. He is a bigger back that can do some great work within the Purdue offense.
