Today we feature one of Purdue’s few seniors who was chosen as a defensive captain on Thursday.

Navon Mosley - Sr.

West Bloomfield, MI (West Bloomfield HS)

6’, 200 pounds

Safety

2019 Projection: Starter at Safety

Navon is one of the most experienced players on the roster. He has started 35 of the possible 38 games over the last three seasons and still played in the other three. He has twice been an Academic All-Big Ten selection all while being a defensive stalwart. As a redshirt freshman in 2016 he had 49 tackles for a solid career debut. The next year he improved even more, getting 65 tackles, a pair of fumble recoveries, and a pair of interceptions. One of those fumble recoveries came in the bowl win over Arizona.

Last season was Mosley’s best. He had 93 tackles on the year and an interception against Indiana. The Bucket game against IU was probably his best as he also had 10 tackles to help Purdue reach a second straight bowl game.

Mosley’s final season will be a big one for Purdue. He is expected to be a leader for the defense and he will benefit greatly from the freshmen pushing him.
