Purdue has a number of true freshmen that come into the program with high expectations. One of them is today’s player.

Jalen Graham - Fr.

Detroit, MI (Cass Tech HS)

Safety

2019 Projection: Contributor at Safety

Combined with Marvin Grant, Purdue has a true freshman duo in the defensive backfield that is ready to contribute immediately. Graham comes to us as a three-star prospect from Detroit after an 11-2 season at Cass Tech HS. At 6’3” he is a huge safety that can defend both the run and the pass. He was also a solid quarterback in high school, but he will play strictly defense at Purdue.

And play he will. Navon Mosley and Brennan Thieneman have the starting spots for now, but Grant and Graham are definitely going to play as top reserves. He could also make an impact on special teams. It will be difficult to keep him off the field.
