We all knew what the Celtics were getting with taking Carsen Edwards.
Well, the 76ers drafted Carsen then traded his rights to the Boston Celtics. Celtic fans were happy on draft night, but they are even more happy now that they have seen him in action in the NBA Summer League.
We all knew it, Carsen is a walking bucket. The “Hes too small” BS, that doesn’t fly, while he may be an undersized scoring guard, he is STRONG, grown man strength.
29 other teams are going to regret not selecting Carsen Edwards and they should remember his name. One pick before, the Indiana Pacers were sitting there. Needing another scorer, needing another guard to bolster the bench, after losing Darren Collison, Cory Joseph, Tyreke Evans, Wesley Matthews, they needed another guard.
Nah, they decided to trade the pick for future 2nd round picks. Good Ole Pacers.
Now Carsen Edwards and oddly enough, Tacko Fall from UCF (who Purdue recruited heavily out of HS) are taking the hearts of all Celtics fans.
Here are some Tweets that have occurred over the past week:

Again, this is nothing we did not already know. If he was three inches taller, he would have easily been a lottery pick. In two games this summer, Carsen is averaging 17 Points per game. While that doesn’t seem like a ton, Summer League is known for giving everyone minutes, so this is in limited time.
The report is Carsen and the Celtics are in contract talks now. Since he was a 2nd round draft picks do not get guaranteed contracts like first round picks, he balling out in the summer league is even more important. It appears that the Celtics are going to give him some type of guaranteed contract, as this has become more common in recent years with standout 2nd round picks.
It hurts, but I am a Celtics fan now. Best of luck Carsen with the rest of the summer league, go win a championship!
