The best place to make an impact as a walk-on is on special teams, and that might be where today’s player has an impact.

Kieren Douglas - So.

Pickerington, OH (Pickerington Central HS)

6’2”, 220 pounds

Linebacker

2019 Projection: Deep reserve at linebacker

Douglas comes to Purdue from Pickerington, OH, a suburb just east of Columbus. He has yet to see the field at Purdue, but had an offer from Army out of high school as a 2-star prospect according to 247. That service also reports that he enrolled at Wake Forest for the 2017 season before coming to West Lafayette. Rivals reports that he had actually committed to Army as well.

In high school Douglas was also a track star. He played middle linebacker on a team that went 13-2 in his senior season and lost 29-27 to Cincinnati St. Xavier in the semifinals of the state tournament.

Douglas brings a strong pedigree as a walk-on, and could be valuable depth this season.
