Thompson, Newman Star as Indiana Routs Kentucky in All-Star Series

The centerpiece of Indiana All-Star week began tonight in Louisville as the 54th Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Series got underway at Bellarmine University. As has happened a lot recently, Indiana dominated. We won 97-64, and of the three Indiana players in double figures, two are Purdue signees.

Mr. Basketball Trayce Jackson-Davis had 16 points, but Brandon Newman led the Boilermaker State with 18 points and Isaiah Thompson had 17. Newman finished the night playing just over 18 minutes and was 6 of 12 from the floor and 3 of 8 from three. He also added five rebounds and two assists.

Thompson was excellent from deep, hitting 5 of 7 threes and finishing 6 of 11 from the floor. Both Thompson and Newman started along with Jackson-Davis, Armaan Franklin (headed to Indiana) and Jake LaRavia (headed to Indiana State).

The series concludes tomorrow night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as the seniors face Kentucky again, then Thompson, Newman, and Mason Gillis head up to West Lafayette.
