Today was the first day of the FIBA U-19 World Cup and it was a good one for Team USA as the Americans blew out New Zealand 111-71. The United States put five players in double figures, and one of them was our own Trevion Williams.
Tre had a big game, playing almost 18 minutes and finishing with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and two assists. It was quite an efficient outing, too, as he was 5 of 9 from the field and he hit both of his free throws. Three of his rebounds came on the offensive glass, and he only had one foul. Here are your highlights:
The second game for Team USA will be agaainst Lithuania on Sunday, and the Lithuanians are always tough in this. Remember: It was Lithuania that beat Purdue at the World University Games two years ago. You can watch online at FIBA’s YouTube Channel.
