Hey guys, just a few quick updates for the most important weekend of the year.
Namely, my birthday weekend.
Bruce gave New Jersey High School recruits some great advice... New Jersey, It’s a Death Trap, It’s a Suicide Rap, You Got To Get Out While You’re Young (and got play for Purdue).
Sanoussi Kane
Sanoussi Kane, a 3*(83) safety out of Blairstown, New Jersey visited Purdue on June 11th with now Purdue verbal commit Collin Sullivan.
I’m committing on June 29th at @Harlem__Jets practice field at 12pm @SaylorBlairFB @gbowman26 pic.twitter.com/wJnOBfcghR

He’ll be announcing on the 29th, and rumor around the recruiting water cooler is that he’s looking like a future Boilermakers.
Adding Kane to current commit safety Antonio Stevens would give Purdue a solid pair for the back end of the defense and finish up the safety position for 2020.
Cullen Coleman
Coleman, a 3*(87) linebacker out of Rye County Day School in Rye, New Jersey is one of the most sought after linebackers on the east coast. He’s got offers from pretty much everyone, but it looks to be down to Cal, Purdue, Northwestern, and Virginia.
Coleman was in West Lafayette this week (17-19th), visited Northwestern (19-20), and is currently visiting UVA.
Purdue just received the coveted 247 Steve Wiltfong crystal ball, so I like the Boilermakers chances.
This would be huge for Purdue. Hopefully I’ll have more information soon.
Garnett Hollis Decision Looms
The top CB on Purdue’s recruiting board is set to commit tomorrow. Purdue already landed his high school teammate Antonio Stevens. Adding Hollis would be an incredible pull for the Boilermakers.
This is a three team race between Purdue, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt. The smart money appears to be on Northwestern right now, but the pull of playing with Stevens could let Purdue close late. I’d say it’s probably 75% Northwestern, 25% Purdue right now.
This means he’s most likely a Vandy lock.
Chris Mayfield Official Visit
Chis Mayfield, a 3*(84) defensive end prospect out of Hilliard Bradley High School in Ohio, was on campus for an official visit this week.

Purdue is in the market for defensive ends after a few early misses. Mayfield has grown man size at 6’2, 250, and has good explosion off the line.
This is is three way dance between Purdue, Cincinnati and Michigan State. The Bearcats got a visit on the 14th, the Boilers got a visit on the 20th, and he’s visiting Sparty right now.
I haven’t seen an official commitment date, but when guys start packing in visits, it’s usually a decent indicator that a decision is on the way.
I’ll keep you posted.
Georgia Tech Commit Eddie Watkins on Campus
Eddie Watkins, a 3*(85) defensive end / outside linebacker prospect out of Hillcrest High School in Evergreen, Alabama is on campus this weekend for an official visit.

Watkins committed to the Yellow Jackets after his first official visit last week, but decided to go forward with his Purdue visit. It’s possible that he’s just touring the best engineering schools in the nation, but the fact that he’s still making the trip hopefully means Purdue is still in the running for the pass rusher out of Alabama.
In Conclusion
I’m going to be enjoying my birthday weekend, hopefully y’all have something good going down as well. Stay safe, and I’ll see you next week with more news.
