Lawrence Johnson is a big man. Staying in state, coming down from Fort Wayne, Johnson took a redshirt his first season, after appearing in two games as a reserve.
To me, he is a nose tackle, a space eater. Think of our boy Lorenzo Neal Jr., who is being predicted as a top 20 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Johnson is that same mold of player.
With Neal coming off a torn ACL I wouldn’t be surprised to see Johnson on the field early and often at that nose position to give Neal a breather or just to slowly work Neal back into play.
Johnson has an extremely high ceiling and I was impressed with him coming out of high school. Look for Johnson to make an impact this coming season.
