Once again, Purdue’s women’s golf program is in the NCAA Championships. It is the 18th time the women’s program has reached the NCAA Championships with runner-up finishes in 2007 and 2011 to how with the 2010 National Championship. Maria Hernandez was also the individual National Champion in 2009.

This year’s championships will be May 17-22 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Purdue is one of 24 teams qualified for the 72 hole stroke play, then the top 8 will play match play to decide the title.

Purdue qualified by finishing fourth at two over par in the Norman, Oklahoma Regional. Micaela Farah finished tied for fifth at 3 under par while reigning Big Ten champion Melati Putri was one stroke behind her. Texas won the regional at nine under par while Florida and Wake Forest were ahead of Purdue at even par. Purdue was seeded 8th in the field, so its advancement as a top 6 team was a minor surprise.
