92 Days to Purdue Football: Giovanni Reviere

The sophomore defensive end was a regular starter last year

NCAA Football: Wisconsin at Purdue Thomas J. Russo-USA TODAY Sports

Today we have one of the first starters in our countdown.

Giovanni Reviere - So.

Chattanooga, TN (McCallie HS)

6’5”, 270 pounds

Defensive End

2019 Projection: Starter at Defensive End

Last season was a big debut for Reviere. He came out of his redshirt year and ended up starting all 13 games at defensive end. this came out of need, as Purdue was thin all season on the defensive front. With the incoming talent Purdue will have more depth, but Reviere brings experience to the table.

Reviere finished last season with 30 tackles, 5 for loss, and three sacks. His best game was the Bucket game where he had five tackles. His three sacks were the most for a defensive lineman, as Markus Bailey had 5.5 from his linebacker slot and Jacob Thieneman had five as a safety.

Reviere is expected to be a starter once again, and with the addition of George Karlaftis hopefully his numbers improve.
