Name: Kawann Short

Class: 2009-2012

Purdue Career Stats: 124 tackles, 49 TFL, 19.5 sacks, 2 INT

Where Are They Now?; Round 2, Pick 44, 2013 NFL Draft - Carolina Panthers

Kawann Short might have accomplished more in basketball in high school than he did in football. The East Chicago Central football program has only won a sectional once, and that came in 2013. The basketball program has a state championship, however, thanks to Short and his better known teammate E’Twaun Moore. Both men, of course, have gone on to great things as professionals.

Before the 2017 NFL season Kawann got himself paid. He signed a 5-year, $80 million contract extension in April of 2017 just after having the Panthers place the franchise tag on him. He has 32.5 sacks, 9 forced fumbles, and 6 fumble recoveries in his career, and has twice been to the Pro Bowl. This past season was his second Pro bowl selection in his career.
