When the non-conference schedule for 2019-20 was released last week it had two glaring openings: the Gavitt Games and the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Well, one of those is now full per John Rothstein:
Sources: Matchups for the 2019 Gavitt Games are set.

Villanova at Ohio State
Michigan State at Seton Hall
Creighton at Michigan
Purdue at Marquette
Providence at Northwestern
Penn State at Georgetown
Minnesota at Butler
DePaul at Iowa
Apparently the Big East did not get the memo that Carsen Edwards went to the NBA, but Markus Howard opted to return to Marquette for his senior season. Last year he averaged 25 points for a Marquette team that was in the top 25 all season.
This game should also be familiar because we saw it two seasons ago. Purdue beat the Golden Eagles 86-71 in Milwaukee in the 2017 Gavitt Games and Howard had 24 points. This was a few months after Purdue won a pair of games in the old Bradley Center in the NCAA Tournament, but this coming game will be in the new Fiserv Forum.
This should be a good early test against a preseason top 25 team with a National Player of the Year candidate in Howard. Too bad Carsen isn’t back, because watching those two duel would be fun.
This also almost certainly means Purdue is playing its ACC/Big Ten Challenge game at home.
