A few weeks ago Kyle King left the Purdue basketball program after one year as a walk-on, leaving Tommy Luce, the King of Mackey Arena, as our lone remaining walk-on. He will have company at the end of the bench next season as coach Painter added Jared Wulbrun as a new preferred walk-on:

California Lutheran is a Division III school located in Thousand Oaks, California. They were 7-18 last season and Wulbrun was a starter in 23 of 25 games as a freshman. He averaged 6.6 points per game as a 5’11” guard hailing from Stanford, California, where he attended Palo Alto High. I do love this from his bio, however:
Palo Alto High School Graduated in 2018…was a two time varsity letter for the Vikings basketball program…made Second Team All-League…was team captain and is the all-time leader in charges taken… helped the his team go to back to back state championship final four appearances.
Here is a winner that will take charges and is a strong leader. That’s what we need in walk-ons, so welcome aboard.
