We have our first kickoff time of the 2019 season! Purdue football returns in 120 days and earlier this evening the Mountain West Conference announced the kickoff times and TV Networks of some of its first games of the year. Since the Boilers open in Reno against the Nevada Wolfpack that conference owns the TV rights, and it will mean a late night. The game kicks off at 9:30pm ET on Friday, August 30th and will be televised on CBS Sports Network:
Listed below are the Mountain West TV games that were announced on Wednesday (all times Eastern):
Saturday, Aug. 24
Arizona at Hawaii – 10:30pm, CBSSN
Friday, Aug. 30
Purdue at Nevada – 9:30pm, CBSSN
Saturday, Aug 31
Missouri at Wyoming – 7:30pm, CBSSN
Friday, Sept. 6
Marshall at Boise State – 9pm, ESPN2
Saturday, Sept. 7
Minnesota at Fresno State – 10:30pm, CBSSN+
Purdue has played on CBS Sports Network once before when it lost at Rice early in the 2011 season. This is Purdue’s first non-conference, non-Power 5 road trip since opening the 2015 season at Marshall and we do not currently have another such trip until we travel to Connecticut on September 11, 2021.
As another fun fact, this will likely be the highest altitude Purdue has played at. Reno sits at 4,505 feet above sea level, with only Colorado State (5,000 feet), New Mexico (5,312 feet), Colorado (5,430 feet), and Wyoming (7,165 feet) at a higher elevation in the FBS. Purdue has never played any of those schools, home or away.
