Purdue Football: Jacob Abrams Enters Transfer Portal

Purdue is losing a redshirt sophomore safety

The Portal...

Soon to be Sophomore, Jacob Abrams has decided to leave the program. The 6-2, 195 pounds safety recorded one tackle last season as a redshirt freshman.

Abrams, who was a late addition to the 2017 class, in an effort to give scholarships to in state players after Hazell left, was a 2* recruit, with his second biggest offer being Ball State. He had other offers from Columbia and Cornell, so he clearly is intelligent and will not struggle to find his next school.

The hope was to see the field more often this upcoming season, but Purdue has landed some big time recruits at safety, particularly in this 2019 class, with 4* Marvin Grant and 3* Jalen Graham, but from the Detroit area, Graham who may end up as the starting strong safety after a solid spring.

We wish nothing but the best to Jacob as he looks to find his next home.
