As you know, we’re a golf school. The most recent national championship in school history was the women’s title in 2010, and the ladies are regularly in the hunt for national hardware. Today they brough home some individual hardware as Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri tied for the Big Ten women’s inidividual title. She fired an impressive five-under 67 today on the second day of competition to finish 6-under for the weekend. She tied with Ohio State’s Nikolette Schroeder for individual low honors.

In the team compitition Purdue finished tied for second with Illinois and Indiana at +2 for the tournament. Ohio State won the team title at -1. It was the best finish as a team for Purdue since 2013. Purdue had the second best team round of the day at 281, just one stroke worse than fifth place Northwestern, but a 297 on Saturday was a little too much to overcome.

Purdue is ranked 33rd as a team nationally according to Golfstat and should once again qualify for one of the four NCAA regionals. Each of the four regionals will feature 18 teams.
