The Purdue Women’s Basketball team has remembered how to play basketball again, or maybe a coach remembered how to coach a little bit again.
Last night, the Boilers upset 6 seed Nebraska, a team that beat Purdue twice in the regular season, once by 20 points. The women controlled the game, leading for most of it and they didn’t blow a 4th quarter lead!
Dominique Oden lead the way with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. 1st Team ALL-B1G Player, Karissa McLaughlin had another solid game with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Ae’Rianna Harris was a stalwart defensively and posted a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
The women look to continue this tournament run today, as they play Rutgers at 9 PM, another late game.
In one meeting vs #20 Rutgers, the women lost in overtime, 65 to 63, playing at Rutgets, McLaughlin had a good game scoring 18 points in the first and only match-up of the season.
Let’s get another upset, ladies! Boile Up!
