College Basketball Rankings December 9: Purdue Still Outside Top 25

WHAT!?!?!

NCAA Basketball: Northwestern at Purdue Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Purdue was ranked #23 in the preseason AP top 25, but fell out after losing to Texas on the opening weekend. Since then the Boilers have received votes in each of the following four weeks, but were out of the top 25 much like last year when Purdue missed eight consecutive polls while still receiving votes in each.

After blowing out No. 5 Virginia at home and beating Northwestern yesterday the Boilermakers should have been back in the AP top 25 this week, but apparently the voters were completely unaware of the Virginia win. It does continue a streak where Purdue has at least been in the “Others Receiving Votes” category since the last regular season poll of 2015.
