No surprise here:
#Purdue's Matt Haarms (concussion) out tonight at Ohio, per the school. Nojel Eastern returns to the starting lineup for the 9 p.m. tipoff.— mike carmin (@carmin_jc) December 17, 2019
Matt Haarms missing tonight’s game is not a shock, as his head literally bounced off the floor on Sunday night in the loss at Nebraska. He left the game and went straight to the locker room. The concussion was confirmed later that night by Purdue Basketball on Twitter, so him missing tonight’s game is not a shock. This almost certainly makes him questionable for Saturday’s game against Butler in the Crossroads Classic.
This moves Nojel Eastern back into the starting lineup, with Trevion Williams likely shifting to the five and Nojel at the four. Hopefully this is the spark that Nojel needs offensively, as he has... struggled, to say the least on offense. We might also see some minutes from redshirt freshman Emmanuel Dowuona, too. Dowuona has played in just three games so far this year, scoring a total of six points. Getting him some minutes could be beneficial for later.
