The Transfer Portal: Justin Rogers’ Crystal Ball

Could a TCU Quarterback be headed North?

Going through the transfer portal yesterday - I noticed that the TCU quarterback, Justin Rogers got a Crystal Ball to Purdue.

The former 4* QB and #3 Dual Threat Quarterback from the 2018 class put his name into the portal after being the back up quarterback all of the season for TCU.

Out of high school, Justin had offers from just about anyone, including LSU, Arizona, Baylor, Texas A&M.

He suffered a severe knee injury and supposedly have had some lingering effects. He redshirted during his 2018 freshmen season, then was the back up this season as a Redshirt Frosh.

At 6-4, 225 Pounds and two years of experience in a college level weight program, Justin would be a huge get for Purdue. In a thin quarterback room, especially if Sindelar leaves. Rogers would walk in being the highest ranked player out of high school.

Rogers runs a 4.75 forty so is definitely mobile enough to run a bit in the Jeff Brohm offense, he also graded out at a 96 in the Nike Sparq combine, which is an elite grade. Also an insane number - his vertical is 36 inches!

A transfer of this magnitude would not consider Purdue if he did not have a chance to come in and start. There are rumors he will apply for immediate eligibility - which would give him 3 full years at Purdue. If he had to sit a year, he would still have two remaining.

TCU did struggle at Quarterback this year and Rogers still did not crack the starting lineup which is somewhat alarming. When TCU traveled to Purdue this fall, he did travel with the team - maybe he saw something he liked.

We will keep monitoring this high profile transfer! Enjoy some highlights.
