Both Purdue and Northwestern have needed a lot of beer this season.

It has been a long season for both Purdue and Northwestern, so beer has been a necessary component in watching both teams. Last season we profiled Smylie Brothers Brewing as the first brewery in the new style of Friday Drankin’, where I profile a brewery in the opponents’ city. There are not a lot of choices in Evanston proper, but Temperance Beer Company is one of them.

Temperance Beer Company has a lot going for it with yoga classes, brewery tours, and other events held at the Tap Room. They also offer a wide range of beers that are also canned and available in local stores.

Basement Party Unfiltered American Lager – 4.9% ABV - Remember your first basement party? Maybe it was just a few friends hanging. Maybe it was a legit house party with a DJ, a packed dance floor, and fogged up windows. No matter what it was, basement party vibes were the best. But the beer wasn’t. Which is why we were inspired to make a lager—the unofficial beer style of basement parties everywhere—that was worthy of the name.

Greenwood Beach Blonde – 4% ABV - Swimsuits on fences. Chances taken. Summer belongs to the carefree and the courageous. Greenwood Beach Blonde ale embraces summer with a bold addition of pineapple. It’s a beer for the opportunities you don’t pass up.

Grab a sixer of sunshine in a glass.

Oktoberfest Marzen – 5.7% ABV - Crisp and refreshing with a pronounced and slightly sweet malt backbone, this Märzen-style Oktoberfest pairs well with crisp Autumn days and harvest celebrations.

All the World Dry-Hopped Cream Ale – 5% ABV - All the World is Here is proudly crafted by Temperance Beer Co, the Field Museum, and the Chicago Brewseum. Dry-hopped to perfection, this cream ale includes 2-row Chevalier barley malt and American corn varieties featured at the Exposition. A blend of hop bite and malt flavor, this beer embodies the many meanings of Chicago’s greatest fair.

Stroop Dreams Pastry Stout – 9% ABV - That delicious caramel Dutch treat that tops hot mugs of coffee? We teamed up with Old Irving Brewing Co. and made it into a beer!

Stroop Dreams is an Imperial Stout brewed with malted milk powder, cinnamon, vanilla, and caramel.

These are just a few options, and Stroop Dreams is a one-off that they currently have and once it is gone, it is gone. This is definitely worth a stop the next time I am in Chicago.
