When Purdue and Northwestern met last season it was a highly anticipated Thursday night game where Rondale Moore said “hello” to the nation. Northwestern won on its way to winning the Big Ten West, but this year has not been nearly as kind.
Northwestern has become allergic to offense. They have not scored a touchdown in their last three games. They are dead last in the nation in scoring. Just a year after playing for a Big Ten title they are already eliminated from bowl consideration and, given their struggling offense, 10 points might be enough to get a win here.
Purdue also has not beaten Northwestern since 2010, so we’re kind of due in this series. Honestly, even with a third string walk-on quarterback playing, we should be able to beat a very, very bad Northwestern team. A victory also gives us one of those “winning streaks” all the kids are talking about.
