Purdue is definitely not going to get points on pretty for this one. Facing a lackluster offense that hadn’t scored a touchdown in more than a month the Purdue defense was quickly gashed for a 79 yard touchdown run. The 14-0 lead after a quarter felt insurmountable, but Aidan O’Connell did just enough. His poise yesterday helped deliver Purdue’s fourth win of the season and the late field goal from J.D. Dellinger was just enough to keep some extremyl faint postseason hopes alive for the Boilermakers.
Oh, and David Bell continues to be an incredibly dangerous weapon no matter who is throwing him the football.
As you will see from this week’s In Tweets, we ran the gamut of emotions from start to finish. Northwestern is not a good team and Purdue is far from great with all the injuries, but after everything Purdue has been through this season I think we’ll take it.
A fun game to play every weekend- who scores more: Northwestern or Manchester City?

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE MAKING NORTHWESTERN HALF-HATS https://t.co/Geu5se8q6Z

34 days without a touchdown, so you knew they would rattle one off against us immediately

So much for going under for this game, if this is how it's gonna go!

Holy sweet fuck, Purdue football is a joke right now! https://t.co/8HJoMrUrLm
Giving up multiple first quarter Touchdowns to Northwestern is an embarrassment on a national scale

Nice drive by Purdue. Showed resiliency/toughness and overcame holding call to finish the drive. It's 14-7, NU. Now, can the defense respond and force another punt?

This game is going to destroy all faith in the Jeff Brohm era. And it should.

5 Minutes Later: I'm not saying we would beat Ohio State this year but I don't think they want any of this smoke!
Northwestern scored a touchdown?
— RossWB (@RossWB) November 9, 2019
On offense?
On purpose?
on one hand, this is Purdue's lost like 10 of their 15 best players (including Rondale, Bailey, & *three* QBs), and 30 freshman (19 true) have needed to see the field, which isn't ideal for football.
— Aneesh Ramaswamy (@aneeshswamy) November 9, 2019
on the other hand, woah buddy this defense should be better. https://t.co/Gbs5PFlsG4
Just a bunch of guys taking Comm 114 and scoring TDs. https://t.co/gmIjb1reiE

Fun fact it costs less for a family of 6 to get into a Northwestern football game than it does to park for one.

Every coach in America should have an official twitter checker.

At the half:
Coach: “what’s twitter saying”
Twitter checker: “pretty much says you need to quit being a scared dipshit and go try and win this game”
Coach: “noted”

From walking on to starting this @BoilerFootball game in his own backyard, former D-III commit Aidan O'Connell was moved to tears after leading a game-winning FG drive: pic.twitter.com/BEw66LXeLZ
Worked harder than anyone. Never questioned the situation he was in. Ready for the moment. Boilermaker. https://t.co/WZkQpRTiIj
