The champs are here.
We have a lot to defend this season. There is that whole record 24 Big Ten championships, and we need to see if they recorded Gene Keady saying “The home of 25 Big Ten Championships”. Purdue enters the season 63-4 in Mackey Arena over the last four seasons. That is an absolutely insane home record, and all four losses very easily could have been wins. We haven’t lost in Mackey since February 7, 2018, and if we had been able to get a single rebound it would go back to January 1, 2017, When Nate Mason played one of the best games possible for an opposing opponent with 31 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds, and 1 turnover.
We just don’t lose in Mackey, and with the defending national champs coming in December, plus Texas, Michigan State, Michigan, and other notable programs with recent NCAA Tournament wins like Northwestern coming to West Lafayette it will be a great year.
