Last season Purdue got its first ever win in Lincoln as it took advance of a rebuilding Nebraska under Scott Frost. Now Purdue is really up against it, needing to win its last four games of the season to reach .500 and a bowl game after disappointing losses to Nevada and Illinois this year. Let’s face it, we expected Purdue to at least be 4-4 at this point, but it was not meant to be.
Nebraska is having their own issues, as they are coming off of a home loss to Indiana and have had nearly as many injuries as Purdue to this point. Neither team is playing with any sort of confidence at this point. Purdue needs a win just to have something positive to build on going forward. A Purdue win would at least be a spark before going to Northwestern, where we can get another spark. Let’s hope the turnaround begins here.
