If Tommy Luce is the King of Mackey does that make today’s player the Archduke of Mackey?

Jared Wulbrun - So.

Wulbrun is the third walk-on for Purdue basketball this year. He comes to us with college basketball experience, however. He played last season at Cal Lutheran University, a Division III school in Thousand Oaks, California. There he played 27 minutes a game and averaged 6.6 points per game for a team that went 7-18. Two things stand out from his high school career too:

• Served as the team captain and is the all-time leader in charges taken.

• Led his team go to back to back state championship final four trips.

That’s always going to get you a look at Purdue. It also helps when his dad has worked as a coach with Coach Painter in the past. His father is currently the associate head coach at Stanford.

Wulbrun liekly is not going to see a lot of action in games this year, but a guy that wants to be a leader and take charges is always going to have a spot in practice.
