Injuries continue to reshape things.

NCAA Football: Purdue at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday we saw the season debut of Richie Worship, but Purdue was still short at linebacker. That is a factor in this week’s depth chart vs. Illinois.

Offense

QB

  1. Jack Plummer - Fr. (RS) or
  2. Aidan O’Connell - So.

RB

  1. King Doerue - Fr.
  2. Zander Horvath - So.
  3. Da’Joun Hewitt - Fr. or Tario Fuller - Sr.

WR

  1. David Bell - Fr.
  2. Jordan Bonner - Fr. (RS)

LT

  1. Grant Hermanns - Jr.
  2. Cam Craig - Fr.

LG

  1. Mark Stickford - So.
  2. Alex Criddle - Jr.
  3. Cam Craig - Fr.

C

  1. Sam Garvin - So.
  2. Will Bramel - Fr. (RS)

RG

  1. Matt McCann - Sr. (5)
  2. Jimmy McKenna - Fr. (RS) or Marc Roland - So.

RT

  1. Eric Miller - Fr. (RS) OR
  2. Will Bramel - Fr. (RS)

TE

  1. Brycen Hopkins - Sr. (5)
  2. Payne Durham - Fr. (RS)
  3. Kyle Bilodeau - Fr.

WR

  1. Jackson Anthrop - Jr.

WR

  1. Amad Anderson - Fr. (RS)
  2. Milton Wright - Fr.

This is the first week that true freshman Kyle Bilodeau is on the depth chart. There is some shuffling with the “or” denotation among the offensive line, but the new combo of Hermanns, Stickford, Garvin, McCann, Miller seems to be the go-to unit. It is improving, and with four returning next year (plus plenty of others gaining experience) it might be a strength in a season.

Defense

DE

  1. Derrick Barnes - Jr.
  2. Kai Higgins - Sr.

DT

  1. Kai Higgins -Sr.
  2. Jack Sullivan - Fr. (RS)

DT

  1. Lawrence Johnson - Fr. (RS)
  2. Giovanni Reviere - So. or Jeff Marks - So.

DE

  1. George Karlaftis - Fr.
  2. Semisi Fakasiieki - Jr.

LB

  1. Jaylan Alexander - So.
  2. Khali Saunders - Fr.

LB

  1. Ben Holt - GS
  2. Semisi Fakasiieki - Jr.

OLB/NB

  1. Jalen Graham - Fr.

CB

  1. Kenneth Major - So. OR
  2. Cory Trice - Fr. (RS)

FS

  1. Navon Mosley - Sr.
  2. Cam Allen - Fr.

SS

  1. Brennan Thieneman - Jr.
  2. Simeon Smiley - Jr.

CB

  1. Dedrick Mackey - So.
  2. Kenneth Major - So.

Fakasiieki shifted between the defensive line and linebacker last week out of necessity. Saunder also saw a few snaps in his second career game. It mostly held the Iowa running game in check, but did not get any pressure on Nathan Stanley at all. Major took back his starting role from Trice, at least for now.

Special Teams

K

  1. J.D. Dellinger - Jr.
  2. Chris van Eekeren - Fr.

P

  1. Brooks Cormier - Fr.
  2. Zac Collins - So.

LS

  1. Nick Zecchino - Jr.
  2. Brooks Royal - So.

Holder

  1. Danny Carollo - Jr.
  2. Zac Collins - So.

Kickoff Returns

  1. Jackson Anthrop - Jr.
  2. Zander Horvath - So.

Punt Returns

  1. Jackson Anthrop - Jr.

Purdue has the worst return units in the Big Ten, but Anthrop did have the longest kickoff return of the season at Iowa.

As for injury updates, here is what we have from Jeff Brohm’s morning presser:

On Rondale Moore, he has been upgraded from “Out” to “Doubtful”:

On Lorenzo Neal:
