Purdue has not beaten a ranked team away from Ross-Ade Stadium in more than 9 years, last beating a Northwestern team that was at the bottom of the top 25 on October 9, 2010 in Evanston. This week presents a golden opportunity to end that streak, as Iowa enters having lost two straight games and with an offense that has managed only 15 points total in the last two games. Despite that, they opened as a 17.5 point favorite.
Purdue has won two in a row, however, and no opponent has had more success in Iowa City than Purdue with its 20 victories. Jeff Brohm has done quite well in his tenure against the “I” schools in the conference, going a spotless 6-0. A road upset over a ranked team would do wonders for this young Purdue team, and it would revive once lost bowl hopes with a much easier slate to finish the season.
