Nalin Fix, out of Notre Dame Prep High School in Michigan, flipped his verbal this evening, changing his verbal from Toledo University to our Boilers.
Nalin, on his HUDL page, lists himself as a OT and DE. At 6-6 275 Pounds, my bet is he ends up as a project offensive lineman, who will need to develop over the course of a couple of seasons - mostly to put some muscle mass on.
According to his HUDL page, he runs a 4.95 forty and also has a 31.5 inch vertical leap, both are pretty good for an offensive tackle. Some sites have Nalin listed as a TE and Defensive End.
Nalin reminds me a lot of a current offensive lineman that we have on the roster. To me, he and Mark Stickford have a similar path. Mark played TE in high school up until his Junior and Senior Seasons, which is the same case for Nalin it appears, as he has played both.
Both are long term project offensive linemen as well. Stickford, as a RS Sophomore is listed as a back up currently, but by the time he is a senior, he will be leaned on heavily.
To build depth, you have to take on guys who will be 4 or 5 year program guys. Nalin will be just that.
Welcome aboard. Boiler Up!
