The latest college basketball AP Poll is out and while Purdue is not in the top 25 again yet, we’re getting more votes:

  1. Duke (37) 1,535
  2. Michigan (9) 1,499
  3. Tennessee (13) 1,481
  4. Virginia (5) 1,471
  5. Gonzaga 1,319
  6. Michigan State 1, 291
  7. Kansas 1,159
  8. Texas Tech 1,109
  9. Virginia Tech 1,093
  10. Nevada 920
  11. Auburn 919
  12. North Carolina 889
  13. Florida State 879
  14. Mississippi State 674
  15. North Carolina State 674
  16. Ohio State 620
  17. Houston 565
  18. Kentucky 520
  19. Buffalo 434
  20. Iowa State 344
  21. Marquette 340
  22. Indiana 245
  23. Oklahoma 243
  24. St. John’s 221
  25. TCU 99

It was a rough week for Big Ten teams with three falling out of the top 25, but the “Others Receiving Votes” category is loaded there. Wisconsin is 27th at 45, Iowa is 28th at 40, Minnesota is 29th at 23, Purdue is 30th at 20, Nebraska is 31st at 15, and Maryland is 32nd at 14.

As I have said before, this just means Purdue has plenty of chances left for good wins. Just this week we get #6 Michigan State and #27 Wisconsin on the road, so even a split would be excellent.
